The 39-foot boat that skidded across a broad beach before crashing into a restaurant on Monday was at last pulled out of the Sunset Grille in Little Harbor on Wednesday morning.

Baryl Martin, a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman, said Hillsborough County Code Enforcement officials will decide the next steps for the building.

Seven people were on the boat when it crashed, and one was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Heavy fog was deemed a contributing factor, though Capt. Matt Santiago, 31, founder of the Tampa Bay Fishing Guide Association, was cited for recklessness.

The boat was estimated to be traveling at least 40 mph at the time of the crash. Tom Cairns, a longtime Ruskin boater, said that's far too fast.

"We've been in fog every bit as bad as it was Monday," said Cairns, 69. "But you don't just go full throttle when you have to make a turn in a foggy channel."
